Two-Player Game:
Each player places a marker on the “HERE” space, then rolls the die. The player with the highest number is “UP”. The “UP” player, Player 1, lifts the “TEAM UP! Cover Card”, takes the top Question Card, and quickly puts the “TEAM UP! Cover Card” back on top of the pile so that the next Question Card is covered. The Question Card chosen is then placed on a table or desk so that BOTH players can easily read the card, making sure that neither player can see the back of the card. Both players quietly work on answering both the Question and the Task on the Question Card. NOTE: Although not required, the teacher/parent can set a 1-minute, 2-minute or 3-minute time limit per Question Card, if desired/appropriate.
Once Player 1 has an answer for both the “Multiple Choice” question and “Task”, he/she says “Stop”, and Player 2 must stop working. Player 1 shares his/her answers with Player 2, Player 2 then immediately shares his/her answers with Player 1. Once both players have shared their answers, the Question Card is turned over to reveal the correct answers.
Player 1 then moves one space on the game board for a correct “Multiple Choice” answer, two spaces for a correct “Task” answer, or three spaces for correct answers to both. Player 2 can “steal” one, two, or three moves if he/she provides a correct “Multiple Choice” and/or “Task” answer missed by Player 1.
After the completion of a question card, either player that lands on a Prime Number (orange space) will roll the die and move the number of spaces indicated on the die (forward 1, 2, or 3 spaces, back 1 or 2 spaces, or no move). Players may only roll the die once for each Question Card completed.
Once the first turn has been completed, the Question Card is set aside, Player 2 is then “UP”, and play alternates as described above. The first player to reach “THERE” wins the game.
